From New Zealand Another Report on New Plymouth GHS_Apr.09.2016
We are also proud to present a report from Haruka Koyama at New Plymouth Girls’ High School to finalize her study program there.
Hi there! It has been turned to autumn here in New Zealand. How’s everything going in Japan? Cherry blossoms are beautifully in full bloom now? I guess they are.
Last weekend I went to Aquatic Center with my host mother and host sister. There are big pool and two kinds of water slider and more fun things. My host sister and I enjoyed water sliders a lot. It was really fun and I like it, so my host mother will take me there this Saturday!
On the 1st of April, we had a farewell party at the hostel for four Japanese girls, who are going to leave here to finish this term 1. Of course, I am one of them. All international students and teachers in charge of international programs came to celebrate us and we had a very great time. We also got Attendance Award and some gifts from school.
On the same day, I went to “ A Quiz Night” held at the church with my host family. We dressed up to the movie of Mr. Incredible. I wore red sleeveless with logo, black t-shirt, and black mask. They were all my host mother and host sister made by hand. Every team has their theme and they have to dress up. It was kind of like Halloween. We answered a lot of questions and competed with other teams. It was difficult to understand questions a little bit for me, but I enjoyed it.
On Saturday, two of the Japanese girls left here finally. I went to the airport to say good-bye. I was very sad, but both of them are from Tokyo so that we can meet them in Japan again. Other friends came to the airport too.
My Korean friend called Stella made us a video of our memories with massages for each. She is learning Japanese for herself so she wrote a message in Japanese. It was one of the most amazing videos I have ever seen, and every Japanese girls were crying.
I’m very surprised because this would be the last report that I’m writing. The time goes by very quickly. I can’t believe that I have spent 2 and half months in New Zealand. I love here, and I wish I could come back again! See you!
Sincerely,
Haruka Koyama
