From New Zealand Report on New Plymouth Girls’ HS 170523

Here comes another updared report from New Zealand, which Kaho Shimada wrote to us.  Her kiwi life seems to be going very well.  Here we go!

Hello everyone. My name is Kaho Shimada. I am an exchange students from Otsuma Nakano to New Plymouth Girls High School in New Zealand. Today I would like to write about my Kiwi life on this week.

At school,  I chose English, ESOL, biology , math, geography and music here. I already learned about that classes in Japan but it's very difficult to understand in English. However, many teacher's classes are really interesting and funny with their jokes, so it makes me more study. Then, we could make a lot of Kiwi friends. My friends are very kind for me because when I didn't understand about the class, they taught me to use easier English and  always support my study !

They are not only from NZ like China, Thailand, Philippine, German and Chile.  I was surprised because their English is so nice, so I want to be like my friends when I go back to Japan.

On Wednesday, Wako and I went to the "TARANAKI youth orchestra " after school.  We played the instruments, so we were thinking about joining orchestra. That orchestra was nice because they practiced popular songs like "Star Wars", "If you are happy and you know it" etc …  I like that bands, so I will go next Wednesday.

I will do my best and have enjoy the rest of my Kiwi life.  Thank you for reading my report !

Kaho Shimada

皆さんこんにちは。ニュージーランドのニュープリマスに滞在している島田花歩です。こちらに来て3週間が経ちました！今からとても充実している私の今週を紹介したいと思います。

学校では英語、ESOL、生物、数学、地理、音楽を選択しました。どの授業もついていくのに必死ですが、担当の先生が面白い話を関連付けて説明してくれたり、授業の終わりにわからなかったところをもう一度解説してくれたりと、全力でサポートしてくれるので楽しく授業を受けれています。 また、たくさんの友達も作ることができました。Kiwiの子はもちろん、中国、タイ、フィリピン、ドイツ、チリ、台湾など様々な国の子とも仲良くなれました。みんな、気さくに話しかけてくれて嬉しいので私ももっと英語を勉強していろんな話をしたいと思います。

水曜日には宮澤さんと"TARANAKI youth orchestra "というオーケストラを見学しに行きました。そこには約50名くらいの小学生からおじいさんまで幅広い年齢の方々が在籍しています。ほんわかした雰囲気で楽しそうに練習していたので、わたしはそのバンドに入りたいなと思っています。ここでもいろんな人と関われたら嬉しいです。

残りの1ヶ月半も日本では経験できないような体験をたくさんしたり、もっと英語を積極的に使って楽しいKiwi生活にしたいです。
