From Ireland – New one-year exchange at Dundalk Grammar School in Ireland

本校は世界7か国での1年留学プログラムがあります。その一つ、アイルランドの提携校であるダンドーク・グラマー・スクールでの新しい留学生活に、高校1年生の安田さんがチャレンジしています。昨年の小松さんに続いてのダンドークでの1年留学。さらに本校とアイルランドの絆を深めてくれるでしょう。

Hello everyone! This is Rikako Yasuda from Ireland.  I am studying abroad at Dundalk Grammar School in Ireland. I am very happy to share my story for this one year.  I have been staying in Ireland for only 3 days. Every little thing was a new challenge for me, and I have a full and enriching life.  Regardless, in this report I would like to introduce my long journey from Tokyo to Dundalk.

I made a trip from Tokyo to Dublin, which is the capital city of Ireland by airplane. It took me 20 hours. After arrival at the city of Dublin, I went to Dundalk, which is 1 hour north of Dublin by bus.  It was very very long journey and I was so tired, but it was such a great experience for me. First of all, it took me about 5 hours from Narita airport to Hong Kong airport. Hong Kong airport was really big, so I had to get on the train to transfer to the gate for the flight to go to Dublin airport.  Also, Hong Kong airport is like a huge department store, and there were many brand goods stores. I had a great time checking out those stores and looking at many clothes.

Then, I got on another airplane from Hong Kong to Dublin. In the airplane I watched 4 movies and slept well. When I arrived at Dublin airport, the sky was covered with mist. However, the air was so fresh, and I love it immediately. After that I went sightseeing in Dublin, I went to Dundalk by bus.  The next day was so sunny, dry and fresh. When I arrived in Dundalk, my host family greeted me with a warm smile. They are so kind and funny. Also, they love Japanese culture and foods. So, I introduced “Origami” on our first day.

I am looking forward to trying many things and maturing from my experiences. Thank you for reading my report.

みなさん、こんにちは。アイルランドに留学している安田理花子です。私は、このアイルランドでの一年間の留学生活をみなさんと共有できることがとても嬉しいです。今、私はアイルランドに来て3日しかたっておりません。全てのことが新しく挑戦することばかりでとても充実しています。

今回は、記念すべき第1回のレポートとして、私の東京からダンドークまでの旅を紹介したいと思います。

私は、東京からアイルランドの首都ダブリンまで20時間かけて飛行機で行き、そのあとバスで北へ一時間ほどのダンドークへと旅していきました。とても長い旅で、とても疲れましたが、良い経験になりました。まず成田空港から香港国際空港まで5時間かけて行きました。香港国際空港はものすごく大きくて、ダブリン行きの飛行機に乗り換えをする時には電車に乗りました。また、この空港は大きいデパートのようでたくさんのブランドものが売っていました。ダブリン行きの飛行機が来るまでの２時間で、お店に入ったりお洋服を見たりと楽しかったです。

香港国際空港からダブリン空港までの13時間は映画を4本見たり寝たりして過ごしました。ダブリン空港に着いたとき、空は霧がかかっていました。しかし空気がとても美味しくて気に入りました。ダブリンを観光した後、バスでダンドークに向かいました。次の日は太陽も出て爽やかでした。ダンドークに着いたらホストファミリーが温かく迎えてくれました。彼らはとても優しくて面白いです。また日本が大好きなので初日は折り紙を紹介しました。

これからたくさんの挑戦をして大きく成長していきたいです。最後まで読んでくださりありがとうございました。
