Bonjour！Je suis N. W.     J’étudie le français a saint-denis international school.

こんにちは！ 現在、フランスのロシュにあるサンドニ・インターナショナル・スクールに1年留学しているN. W. です。

フランスに来て３週間が経ちました。最初は緊張していましたが、ホストファミリーやルームメイトはもちろん、他の人たちも寮の廊下ですれ違う時に話しかけてくれたり、分からないことを教えてくれたり、とてもいい人たちに囲まれて楽しい日々を送っています。  今回は、一週間の生活の流れについて紹介します。

朝、ホームステイ先の人に学校まで送ってもらい、その後授業が始まります。なので、月曜日は、授業が始まる時間が遅いです。留学生は、初めにFLEというクラスでフランス語を勉強します。フランスは授業のコマ数が多く１日、１０コマあります。しかし、その分１コマの授業時間が少なかったり、自習時間が何コマかあったりします。また、水曜日の午後は丸々授業がないのでアクティビティの時間なのですが、まだクラブなどに入っていないのでクッキングに参加しました。平日は学校が終わるとそのままバスで寮に向かいます。

夕食の時間まで、自習時間があるのでこの時間に宿題や授業の復習などをします。金曜日の放課後、ホストファミリーが迎えに来てくれて、家に帰ります。ホストファミリーの家は、すごい広くニワトリや犬などを飼っていたり、庭にはブランコや滑り台があったりとてもびっくりしました。私以外にも3人留学生が来ていてご飯の後みんなでラグビー試合を見たりします。

この前の土曜日は、FLEのメンバーでお城に行きました。お城の中はとても神秘的で一つ一つの壁や家具がとても繊細な作りで美しかったです。日本のお城とはまた違った感じでとても良かったです。自由時間にはみんなでクレープを食べに行きました。食べに行こうといわれた時には持って食べ歩くのを想像していましたが、想像とは違い日本のようにたくさんの種類はなく、シンプルなものが多くナイフとフォークを使い食べることに少し驚きました。

まだ、こちらに来たばかりなのでもっとフランスの文化や語学を学び、学校生活を楽しみたいと思います。最後まで読んでいただきありがとうございました。

Hi,  I’m E.U. studying in Oregon, America.

This month of November, I had a lot of experiences that I can’t have in Japan.  It was Thanksgiving Day, a big event in America. It was a miracle that school was closed for a week just for Thanksgiving, even though it was on a Thursday. During this period, I participated in the youth group trip that I attend every week. We went to the beach together and threw rocks. At night, we made roasted marshmallows and ate them sandwiched between crackers and chocolate. It was great.

On Thanksgiving Day, not only our host families but also our host parents’ siblings and cousins came to join us for a big party. We ate turkey, pumpkin bread, mashed potatoes, pumpkin cake, and much more. We were looking forward to Black Friday, which we expected to be as crowded as the TV show Cloud Nine, but it turned out to be not crowded at all. But it turns out that it wasn’t crowded at all. However, it seems that we just picked the right spot because there were some chaotic places, such as another Target that we mentioned that was so crowded that there was a line to get in, and another mall that had people pulling each other’s hair out fighting for one thing or another.

I’m getting along with my family pretty well. We watch movies together every day. We finished decorating the house for Christmas this month and it’s now all Christmas colors. Grandmother had bought a VR, so I was able to play with it a little. I felt like I was on a real roller coaster, but I was drunk after I took it off. There are times when things don’t go as planned, but I’m trying my best to do my best.

As for school life, I started playing basketball this month. The system is different from that in Japan, where you can start a club even in your senior year. Instead, no one knows the rules except me, but I still think it’s just the beginning.

This is when I start to miss Japan. I’ll hang in there!

今月はたくさん日本ではできない経験をしました。アメリカのビッグイベントであるサンクスギビングデーがあったからです。その日は木曜だったのですがサンクスギビングのためだけに学校が一週間休みになるという奇跡がありました。その期間に被せて毎週参加しているユースグループの旅行に参加しました。みんなで海に行って石を投げました。夜には焼きマシュマロをしてクラッカーとチョコでサンドして食べました。最高でした。

サンクスギビングデー当日はいつも一緒に暮らしているファミリーだけではなくホストペアレンツの兄弟や従兄弟たちもきて大盛り上がりでした。ターキー、パンプキンブレッド、マッシュポテト、パンプキンケーキ、他にもたくさん食べました。そして楽しみにしていたブラックフライデー。TVショーのクラウドナインに出てくるような大混雑を想定していましたが結果は全く混んでいませんでした。そうは言っても私たちが言ったのとは別のターゲットは入店するために列ができるほど混んでたり、別のモールで一つのものを争って髪を引っ張り合う人がいたりとカオスなところもあったみたいなので私たちが当たりを選んだだけのようです。

家族とはかなり仲良くなってきています。毎日のように一緒に映画を見ています。今月にクリスマスの飾り付けを終えてすっかりクリスマス色一色になりました。グランマがV Rを購入していたので少し遊ばせてもらいました。本当にジェットコースターに乗っているみたいな気分になりましたが、外した後、酔っていました。なかなか思い通りにいかないこともあるけど自分なりにベスト尽くして頑張っています。

学校生活の方は今月からバスケを始めました。日本とはシステムが違い、シニアイヤーからでもクラブを始めることができます。その代わりルールを知らない人は自分以外誰もいませんが汗それでもまだこらからだと思っています。

日本が恋しくなってくる頃です。踏ん張ります！

I am M.S., an international student from Otsuma Nakano studying at Claremont Secondary School in Victoria, Canada. In this report, I would like to update my daily life.

At first, I will talk about Black Friday.　Black Friday in Canada is November 26th,  and these events on Black Friday is supposed to be held  for about a week.  There is a big difference between fancy stores which sell in high price and low-priced clothing stores in Canada.  These kinds stores that usually have sales did not have Black Friday discount. On the other hand, stores that usually have high prices had 50% and 70% off sales.

Next, let’s talk about my daily life.　In early November, I went to eat poutine for the first time. It cost about $7, and it was just the right for a snack. It was very rich with a lot of sauce on top. The cheese was cut into squares and placed on top.

Then, let’s move onto my school.　This month, I received my first report card. At Claremont Secondary School, we don’t have homeroom every day, so I went to my classroom for the first time in a while. The messages from the teachers in each subject were long and much about me.

Lastly, I would like to talk about the parade. On November 27th, the 39th anniversary of the Santa Claus Parade was held from 5:30 to 8:00. The origin of the parade was the area around the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. The building was light up for Christmas (green and red). Some people were wearing lights around their necks, and also some people had lights on their cars.

こんにちは、M.S.です。私は現在、カナダ、ビクトリアのクレアモントセカンダリースクールに留学しています。今回は日常生活やパレードについてレポートします。

まずブラックフライデーについてです。カナダのブラックフライデーは11月26日で一週間ほど開催されます。カナダの洋服屋さんは高価格設定のお店と低価格設定のお店の差がすごく大きいです。いつもセールをしているところではブラックフライデーは開催されていませんでした。一方、普段高価格設定のお店は50%オフや70%オフのセールが開催されていました。

次に日常生活についてです。11月の上旬、初めてプーティンを食べに行きました。プーティンはカナダ発祥の食べ物です。7ドルほどでおやつにちょうど良い量でした。ソースがたっぷり乗っていてすごく濃厚でした。チーズは四角く切られて乗っていました。

そして学校についてです。今月、はじめて成績表を受け取りました。クレアモントセカンダリースクールでは毎日ホームルームがあるわけではないので久々に自分の教室に行きました。各科目、先生からのメッセージの部分がすごく大きかったです。

最後にパレードについてです。11月27日に今年で39周年のサンタパレードが5時30分から8時に行われました。会場はブリティッシュコロンビア州議事堂周辺でした。建物はクリスマス使用にライトアップされていました。たくさんの人が列を作っていました。中には首からライトをさげていたり、車にライトをつけている人もいました。
