From Australia – August 6th
From Australia – August 6th, Monday. Day 9
All you need is love & peace
Monday started with fine and sunny, cool morning. It was 13℃, minimum with light to moderate winds. Weather gods have been still shining on us since we arrived here! The sun in Cairns shines just like a gold medal shining on the ultimate athlete, Usain Bolt! Fantastic!
Otsuma-Nakano students are completely used to the lives here, spending wonderful weekend with their families. Some went to camping and some went to the sea and islands or reef. They look a bit tired, but their faces tell us the satisfaction of having fun during the weekend.
Today is the peace memorial day for Hiroshima. Otsuma Nakano students folded Origami into paper cranes for praying the world peace with St. Andrews students in a Japanese class. They told the story on the reasons why Origami paper cranes refer to peace. And then, we concluded today’s class with the words, “Love makes peace.”
We make sure once again that to “imagine” we can love each other is the beginning of the world in peace. Thanks, John!
