From St. Andrew’s_
大切なことは "What am I learning here and what difference can I make?" と問いかけることです。

Hello there! Two weeks have passed since we arrived at Cairns.
My host family is so kind to me and cheerful. They always make me laugh. My host sister has been learning Japanese language at school, so she teaches me English and I teach Japanese to her.
This is my second time to join St. Andrew's, but I was really nervous at first. And yet, because my school buddy is nice, I am so fine. She teaches me kindly when I can't understand.
We had my host brother's party. I swam for 3 hours. We ate pizza, marshmallow and cake! They were all yummy. I enjoyed it all very much! I went to shopping with my friend, Haruka, Jasmin and Rhiann. I bought sooooo many things. I was surprised that the beverages at Hungry Jacks (Australian Burger King) were so large! I couldn't drink it all.
I went to Kuranda with Haruka, Jasmin and Shayne. We took a Kuranda train, which was nice! We saw koalas, wombats, birds and butterflies, and fed kangaroos! I'm having fun every day!! The days at St. Andrew’s and Cairns are going perfect.
Chiaki Wada,
Two weeks have passed since we arrived in Cairns! I am gradually getting used to school, and having a great time here. Winter is getting closer, but it is still too hot to wear long sleeves.
I am helping my Japanese class at school. Everyone is actually really good at Japanese. My school buddy is going to Niigata for three weeks this month, so I need to fire myself up to teach her Japanese.
April 25th was the Anzac Day. I woke up at 4:30 in the morning, and went to a service with the whole family. We prayed for those who died in the battles during the war. I thought that it is very important to learn other countries’ histories as well as our own countries’. I had a good experience.
On the weekends, I went to Kuranda with my friends on a train. We fed kangaroos, and went to the “Butterfly Century” where all the butterflies were flying. The butterflies were very beautiful and friendly like Australian people. Retreat is coming up soon, and I can’t wait for it!!
Haruka Shimizu,
