セントアンドリュース_セカンドターム留学レポート④

本校オーストラリア姉妹校・セントアンドリュース校（ケアンズ）へのターム留学（ターム２）中の和田千明さんから、June　2のレポートが届きました。

英語が劇的に上達しています。理由はシンプル。「目の前にいる大切な人たちから、私に向けられたメッセージを理解したいから。そして私のことも、彼らに理解してほしいから」

「ビジネス・ユース」のために英語をものにしたいという動機は、人の言語習得装置を起動させません。「記号的世界の言語から、生成的世界の言葉へ」（慶應義塾大学SFC教授・國枝孝弘先生）本校のグローバル教育は、あくまで多言語・多文化へのリスペクトが土台です。

Hello there!

We have only one month left.  The time has passed very, very quickly.  I think that little by little, step by step I can speak with more confidence to my friends and host family.  It's fun talking to my host family in the car when we drive home.

I went to the shopping centre with my host mother, siblings and friends on Saturday. We went to the games arcade. I was surprised that almost all of the game machines are made in Japan such as KONAMI and SEGA. I played air hockey with my host sister, Bronte.  It was fun.  

On Saturday night we went to a dinner party with the students from my host siblings’ school. We walked downtown at night and then we saw a fire show at the Cairns Esplanade, which was really cool. I enjoyed it sooo much.  We played a laser gun game called Laser Tag on Sunday. I had never played before so it was a little bit scary, but it was so much fun. I got the third highest score!

My old host family and I went to my old host sister's school fete last Friday. A fete is like a school festival but much bigger than our school one. There were amusement park attractions, which were very fun. Afterwards, I stayed over at their house. My old host sister, Dom and I decorated a birthday cake for my old host mother. It was good and yummy. We played funny games. For example, 'what's in my mouth.' This game is guess what is in my mouth while your eyes are blindfolded. We also played 'blind makeup.' They were really funny.

I've been practicing Soran dancing with Japanese students. It's a little bit hard but I've been enjoying practicing Soran dance!   I'd love to make the best of the time left!

こんにちは。もう残すところあと1ヶ月です。時は本当に早く過ぎます。1週間があっという間に過ぎて行き、気がついたら金曜日、の繰り返しです。だんだんと積極的に話せるようになったと思います。学校の帰りの車の中はとても楽しいトーキングタイムです。

金曜日に去年のホストファミリーとfeteと言われる日本の文化祭のようなフェスティバルに行きました。学校がしているものなのに遊園地のアトラクションがあって驚きました。楽しかったです。それから彼女たちの家に泊まりにいきました。去年のホストシスターのドムと一緒にホストマザーの誕生日ケーキをデコレーションしました。それから面白いゲームをいくつかしました。目隠しをして口の中にある食べ物は何かを当てるゲームをしました。また、目隠しをして相手にメイクをする、というゲームもしました。とても面白かったです。

今、私と清水さんを含め日本語の授業選択者でソーラン節を練習しています。フォーメーションなどが大変ですが練習を楽しんでいます。

大切な人たちとのかけがえのない残りの時間を大切に、楽しい時間にしたいです。
