Hi guys!

It feels like the ending of fall is just around the corner!  The leaves here have already turned yellow. We had two big events in October. "Home Coming" and "Halloween"!!!  Today, I want to tell you about these two things.

Home coming is the tradition of welcoming back alumni of a school, not only a high school but also a university or college.  It is interesting to be that it’s quite similar to our Japanese school festival.  We watched the football game and danced with friends and boys.  Many students prepared for it by decorating the school on weekends and holidays.  My friends were painting murals on the wall every day for the senior's art work of MARIO BROTHERS. Each grade created his/her own art work of famous games. Freshman chose PACMAN, Sophomore chose POKEMON and Junior chose DONKEY KONG.

I also had a wonderful time at the Halloween parties!!  My host family, many relatives and I went to their grandparents' house. During the scavenger hunt we were walking in small groups in the dark forest. We only had a little flashlight. The Scavenger hunt is a game where you are given a list of things you have to find.  It was so creepy but still pretty neat.

These days my favorite thing to do is hang out with my friends.  We go shopping, watch the football game and go to their house. I went to the two haunted houses last week which had zombies and clowns. My friends always make me laugh so much and are very supportive and helpful with everything.

Next month we will have Thanksgiving Day!! I'll try to send an interesting report next time too.

みなさんこんにちは！

木々の葉が鮮やかな黄色に変わり、秋の訪れを感じるこの頃です。ここでは10月には主に2つ、ビッグイベントがあります。「ホームカミング」と「ハロウィーン」です！今日はみなさんにその2つについてお話したいと思います。

ホームカミングは在校生だけでなく、その学校のOB・OGが母校に帰ってくる伝統行事で少し雰囲気が日本の文化祭と似ています。2日間あるPHHSのホームカミングでは、1日目に自校でフットボールの試合を観戦し(私達PHHSのフットボールチーム Billies は見事勝利を収めました！)、2日目には友達や男の子とダンスを踊りました。多くの生徒がホームカミングの為に毎週末や休日に準備をしており、それぞれの学年が有名なゲームのアートワークを思い思いに作っていました。

また、私はハロウィーンパーティーでも素敵な時間を過ごしました！私のホストファミリーと多くの親戚が祖父母の方の家に集まり、スカベンジャーハントというアクティビティーをしました。暗闇の中小さなライトだけで進むのはとても怖かったですが、本当に楽しかったです。

最近の私の好きなことは友達と出かけることで、ショッピングに行ったり、フットボールの試合観戦をしたり、友達の家に行ったりしてとても充実した時間を過ごしています。私の友達はいつも笑わせてくれ、本当に全てにおいて親切です！
