It 's great to share the final report by Miyu Asajima, an exchange student who is staying at the boarding of St. Mary's School in New Zealand. Now the end of the term is getting closer, which means that she has to get bakc to Japan!!
Hello! I am Miyu Asajima, an exchange student studying and staying at St Mary's School. I will report to all of you about my recent boarding school life there. Actually, I will be back in Japan in about 2 weeks, so this report will be my final report.
There are many things I have learned from my stay and experience in New Zealand since I came here. My best memory is that we, full boarders at St Mary's, make visit to many places with us all together. A full border means to be a student who stays at the hostel everyday.
Almost every weekend, we go to New Plymouth. Seven international students except me staying here for exchange programs in New Zealand go to schools in New Plymouth. So, sometimes we meet there by chance when we visit New Plymouth. In New Plymouth, we go shopping and eat a variety of ethnic food from many countries.
As for my school life, my favorite class is fabric. It is like home economics in Japan. But we don’t just take a listen to lectures by teachers as we do in Japan. Instead of that, we can decide what we cook and which food material we can use. So, each student makes progress in the process of the cooking in each own pace. I like that kind of free atmosphere
Recently,I help Japanese Club and Japanese Class. In Japanese Club, we talk about Japanese culture. I made an explanation about and served Japanese tea ceremony. I was nervous because everyone took videos and photos of me. Everyone looked like enjoying my tea ceremony. In Japanese Class, people are learning Japanese language. Recently, there appears international committee, so I joined the international committee. We practice dance at there.

私はあと2週間ほどで日本に帰ります。このレポートは私の最後のレポートです。私がニュージーランドに来てから色々なことがありました。私の一番の思い出はフルボーダーだけで色々なところに行ったことです。フルボーダーとは毎日寮にいる人のことです。私自身もこちらではずっと寮生活でした。毎週末、
だいたい私たちはニュープリマスへ行きます。ニュージーランドに留学に来ている私を除く7人はニュープリマスの学校へ通っています。だから時々私たちは偶然そこで会います。ニュープリマスではショッピングをしたり色々な国の料理を食べます。
私の一番楽しかった授業はファブリックです。それは日本でいう家庭科のようなものです。だけど日本のように座学をするのではなく、なにを作るのか、材料はどうするのか、などを自分で決められます。だからみんな進度が違います。私はその自由な感じが好きでした。
私はジャパニーズクラブとジャパニーズクラスを手伝っています。ジャパニーズクラブは日本の文化を紹介します。最近、私は茶道を披露しました。私はとても緊張しました。なぜならみんながビデオや写真を撮っていたからです。ジャパニーズクラスは日本語を教えています。最近ではインターナショナルコミュニティができ、参加しています。そこではダンスを練習しています。
