From America – Exchange at the University of Saint Joseph#2

Saturday morning started with beautiful sunshine and peaceful silence.  Today is the second day for this program.  But because it is Saturday today, so we do not have classes on this campus.  We went to a small excursion to the downtown of West Harford, where is full of good old American taste and atmosphere and to a huge local shopping mall called Westfarm Shopping Mall to enjoy hanging out around together.

Also, it is great to introduce this beautiful campus of the University of Saint Joseph.  This university was founded in 1932 by the Sisters of Mercy of Connecticut, focusing on preparing its students a successful future, both in career and in students’ contribution to society as a whole.  The university of Saint Joseph is greatly excellent in small class size and a variety of available courses and degrees.

セントジョセフ大学での2日目。朝はとてもさわやかな風と夏らしい陽ざしの中で目覚めました。今日は土曜日で大学での授業はありませんが、セントジョセフ大学のパートナーの引率で、ウエスト・ハートフォードのダウンタウンとウエストファームというモールへのちょっとした遠足となりました。夜は、大学のキャンパスで行われるシェイクスピアの野外劇を楽しみました。盛りだくさんのプログラムで疲れもありますが、日本では体験できない光景ばかりです。

パブリック・バスに乗り込んで、ダウンタウンへのエクスカーションに出かけます。きれいなバスでドライバーも親切です。

ウエスト・ハートフォードのウエスト・ファーム・モール。モールの前でみんなで一緒に。この街は本当に生活水準が高く、アートを楽しむこと自体が文化になっています。

セントジョセフ大学の職員の方々が、詳しくこの大学の特徴と入学方法について、レクチャーを行ってくれました。アメリカの大学に直接、オープンキャンパスに参加した体験は貴重です。日本の大学のオープンキャンパスと比べることができます。この大学は本当にフレンドリーです。アメリカの大学のことなら、これからもなんでも聞いてくださいと。写真は、この大学のアドミッション・オフィスの入り口と大学の方々とのUSJについて学んだあとの記念です。
