Saho Kurita, an exchange student at New Plymouth Girls High School updates her report as follows:

Hello everyone! I’m Saho Kurita. I’m an exchange student at New Plymouth Girls High School in New Zealand. I got used to the life here in New Zealand, and now I have only less than a mouth until getting back to Japan. In this report, I’ll talk to everyone about the news happened last weekend and this week

I did homestay with my host family just for last weekend. I was glad to see my host family again because I did homestay for 4 days last time. Last weekend, we had 3 holidays, so I went to many places. I could spend good time because I went to shopping, church and pool, and also I played the board game, and watched a movie. My host mother is very kind to me, and she likes cooking. So, meals are very delicious!  My host family has a Japanese international student.  We are talking in English and going outside with her to hang around.

At the school, we had a special day called Mufti day last week. It is a day when we can wear mufti and go to school, so, I did wear mufti and I went to school.  On the day, I wrote my essay about Mufti day in the class.

At the cooking class, I cooked a minestrone. At first, our cooking did not go well, because carrots and celery were very hard.  But we talked with each other in my group to make it better, and finally we could cook good minestrone.  There are 3 persons in my class, so we have leftover every time. That’s why I can take out meals every time.

I feel that time passes very quickly.  I do not have much time left to be here, so I’m studying hard and I want to make more friends!  Thank you for reading my report!

こんにちは！New Plymouth Girls High schoolに留学中の栗田紗歩です。ニュージーランドの生活ももう慣れ、帰国まで1ヶ月をきりました。今日は皆さんに先週末の出来事と今週の出来事についてお話しします。

私は先週末だけホームステイをしました。前回4日間、ホームステイをしたお家だったのでまたホストファミリーに会うことができて嬉しかったです！先週末は3日間の連休だったのでいろいろな所に行きました。ショッピング、教会、プールに行ったりボードゲームをしたり、映画を見たり、とても楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。ホストマザーは優しくて、彼女は料理が得意なのでご飯がとても美味しいです！ホストファミリーには同じく日本から来た留学生がいて、英語で話しますが一緒にあそびに行ったりしています。

学校では先週、Mufti Dayという日がありました。これはこの日だけ私服で登校していいという日で、私も私服で学校に行きました。授業ではMufti dayについての自分の意見を書きました。

調理実習ではミネストローネを作りました。最初は人参やセロリがとても固かったですが、同じメンバーの子と話し合ったりして美味しく作ることができました。私の班は３人班なのでいつも、料理が余ってしまい持って帰る事ができます。

時間が経つのがとても速く感じます。残り時間は少ないですが、勉強に励みながらもっとたくさんの友達を作りたいです！私のレポートを読んでくださりありがとうございました！
