From New Zealand – Update Exchange in Sacred Heart GC to kick off for Term 3

Now, short exchange homestay programs of Otsuma Nakano in various countries, Canada, UK, France, Australia and New Zealand have been done with great success respectively.  However, one-year exchange study abroad programs have been going on and on!  A report from New Zealand by Aoi, a one-year exchange student, is now updated as follows:

Hello, everyone. I’m Aoi Gomihara, a one- year long exchange student studying at Sacred Heart Girl’s College, in New Plymouth, New Zealand.  Chilly and cold days are recently going on here in New Zealand. But I am fine and good!!  I will write about new exchange students and what happened this weekend.

Our school welcomed new exchange students from Term 3.  Four girls will stay for long time and six girls will stay for 2 weeks.  Their nationalities are German, Chilean, Hong Konger, Korean and Chinese.  We can talk about our own country’s culture each other. They are very kind and friendly, so talking with them has a lot of fun. Also, I met with the girls of Otsuma Nakano who stayed here for our two weeks program.

Next I will write about cooking I did on the weekend with my host mother. My host mother’s cooking is very nice. I made vegetable pie, fish pie, cheesecake, cork cake, chocolate slice and egg cake on Sunday. Especially making cork cake was very challenging to me because it has many complicated processes, but finally, I did it very well, which looked very cute.  It looked like professional ones made in shop.

It has been passed two weeks from Term 3 started. I’m satisfied every day.  Time passes very quickly, so I want to give it even harder try from now on.

皆さんこんにちは。セイクレッド・ハート･ガールズ・カレッジに留学中の五味原葵です。 ニュージーランドでは最近肌寒い日が続いています。

今回は、新しく私達の学校に来た留学生についてとこの週末にしたホストマザーとのクッキングについての2つを報告します。

ターム3から私の学校には長期間の留学生が4人、短期間の留学生が6人来ました。国籍はドイツ人、チリ人、香港人、韓国人、中国人と様々でお互いの国について話したりすることが出来ています。どの国の留学生もみんな優しくフレンドリーなため一緒に話すのがとても楽しいです。また、大妻中野の2週間プログラムできている中3生とも学校で会うことがありとても新鮮です。

次にこの週末にしたホストマザーとの料理について話します。私のホストマザーは料理がとても上手なためいつも色々なものを一緒に作っています。日曜日に私は、vegetable pie、fish pie、cheesecake 、cork cake 、chocolate slice 、egg cakeを作りました。特にcork cakeを作るのにはたくさんの工程が必要で大変でしたが、仕上がりがとてもかわいくホームメイドとは思えないほどでした。

ターム3が始まり約2週間が経ちましたが、新しい留学生との交流やホストファミリーとの活動で毎日がとても充実しています。時間が過ぎるのがとても早く感じられるので、一日一日を大切にこれからも頑張っていきます。 レポートを読んで下さりありがとうございました。
