From Tokyo – 文部科学省・筑波大学主催のAll Japan High School Forum 2019に参加しました！

昨年度に引き続き、今年度も本校の高校2年生の代表生徒4名が、12月22日（日）に東京・有楽町・国際フォーラムで開催された「2019年度全国高校生フォーラム」に参加し、英語でのポスターセッション・プレゼンテ ーションと全国の高校生とのディスカッションに臨みました。

このフォーラムは、全国のSGH校、WWL（ワールドワイド・ラーニング）コンソーシアムの学校、グローカル型高等学校教育改革推進校、合わせて118校の代表生徒が一堂に介して、その取り組みの成果を英語での ポスター・セッション・プレゼンテーションで競い、さらに、その全国の 代表生徒同士で、SDGsのトピックについて議論しあうものです。今年度は、タイからカセサート大学附属高等学校、台湾からは、臺中市立臺中第 一高級中等学校の代表生徒も発表とディスカッションに参加しました。

本校からは、高校2年生の赤根舞香さん、金子邦香さん、双佐空さん、 武田詩織さんの4名が代表として、このフォーラムに出場しました。本校の代表チームは、「日本が海外から移り住む人の急激な増加に伴い、急速に多言語化、多文化社会となりつつある中で、異なる言語、文化を背景とする人たちが日本の社会でスムーズに共生するための課題とソリューション」について、リサーチをし、発表しました。多文化共生において、言葉のバリアをどう克服するか。日本語をもっと活用するべきではというメッセージです。

本校の4人の代表生徒の英語プレゼンテーションは、チームワークに優れ、効果的なメッセージの伝え方を十分に研究・練習してきた自信に満ちて、堂々としており、たくさんのオーディエンスの方々、 そして、審査員の先生から、賞賛の言葉を頂きました。本校のさまざまな取り組みが、このポスターセッションの発表に結実していたと思います。

また、午後は、日本各地の代表生徒、そしてタイや台湾からの高校生と一緒に、SDGsについて、ディスカッションを行いました。本校の生徒は、「格差のない社会を目指して」をトピックに、SDGs-3  “Good Health and Well Being” と SDGs -5 “Gender Equality” の2つのSDGsを関連付け、課題、原因、そして、それへの解決策を、すべて英語でディスカッションしました。 東京大学のアメリカ人の先生によるファシリティトとともに、SGH校、 WWL校、GLOCAL推進校、タイの学校、台湾の学校、それぞれの生徒が、さまざまな視点で、アイディアを出し合い、それをシェアすることができた有意義な時間となりました。本校の代表生徒の4名も、それぞれのグループの中で議論をリード する場面も多く、本校の取り組みの成果が、このディスカッションでも十分に発揮されていたと思います。

ここに集まった高校生たちが、これからその志、マインドセットとスキルセットを、学校の枠や国境を越えて広めていくことで、SDGsが達成されていくことを実感できたフォーラムとなりました。

On Sunday, December 22, All Japan High Forum 2019 was held at Tokyo International Forum at Yurakucho, which was organized by MEXT and Tsukuba University.  In this Forum, representative students from SGH Schools, WWL (Worldwide Learning Consortium) Hub schools and Partner Schools, and Glocal Project Schools from all over Japan, all of which were 118 high schools, competed each other with their poster presentations and joined the group discussions about some global issues of SDGs in English.

The four Otsuma Nakano High School students, Maika Akane, Kunika Kaneko, Sora Sosa, and Shiori Takeda participated in this Forum as the representative of all Otsuma Nakano students.  They made great success in their presentation and in the group discussion.

As for the poster presentations, Otsuma Nakano representative students, Maika, Kunika, Sora and Shiori made their group presentation about the topic of “Our First Step to build a society of harmony in Japan,” which is based on the project they have been working on as one of the activities of “Global Issue Studies” in our school curriculum.  They made several researches to focus on one of the current issues Japanese society is now facing.

In their informative presentation, they suggested some solutions to the problem of the lack of understanding of people from overseas living in Japan.  In particular, many non-Japanese native speakers are struggling to communicate with Japanese people in communities.  So, Otsuma Nakano students make some proposals to solve this isolated situation of people from overseas in Japan, which are to give them good enough opportunities to learn easy Japanese.  They would be very helpful in passing enough information to them in order to live in peace and comfortably in Japanese society.

In the group discussion in English, Otsuma Nakano students joined the group to discuss about SDGs-3  “Good Health and Well Being” and SDGs -5 “Gender Equality.”  About 20 students from various SGH and WWL High Schools nationwide and international exchange students from Taiwan and Thailand were divided into 6 groups to discuss the topic and finally, they shared with each other their ideas about some solution to achieve these SDGs.

Otsuma Nakano students did their best to deepen their learning so as to become leaders with their great potential and a dream for the globalized world.
