Hello, everyone!  I am Momoyo Kawano, an exchange student studying at St. Andrew’s Catholic College in Australia.  I came here about one week ago, and since that time, I have been at St. Andrew’s Catholic College.  I would like to introduce my school and my weekend.

I am studying Religion and Ethic, Mathematics, Career, Visual Art, Food technology, English and Japanese. Especially, I like “Career” class, which is for students helping us to find my job.  When I joined this “Career Class” for the first time, the teacher of the class asked, “What do you like and dislike? “ and then, one of students said, “I hate racism”.  Australia is a country of ethnic diversity, so I thought nobody in Australia do not care the color of the skin people have.  Actually, one of my friends has black skin, and also I have yellow skin, but everyone do not discriminate us because of our skin color.

The next topic is how classes in St Andrew’s are going.  All students of St Andrew’s express their own opinions even without being asked.  I like this style, because everyone try to understand lessons and grow up a sharp intellect.  However, my English listening skill is not good enough to understand what they say in English.  Therefore, I try to listen to them carefully.

The other topic is my first weekend. I went to the shopping center, which is the biggest one in Cairns, and then I went to “typo”. The shop is famous among teenagers.  I do not know why, but almost my friends have bigger pen cases than Japanese students do.  I asked my host mother and she told me it can hold all pens, highlighters, whiteouts, and so on. Therefore, I bought a big pen case and notebook.

This Sunday, I will make Red Velvet cake for my host mother’s father’s birthday. Certainly, I have to finish my homework, so my weekend will be busy, but I am excited . I am enjoying this experience and learning everyday from many things.

みなさん、こんにちは！オーストラリアのセントアンドリュース・カトリック・カレッジに留学中の川野桃代です。約1週間前にここに来て、5日前からこの学校に通い始めました。私の学校と私の週末を紹介したいと思います。

私は、宗教と民族、数学、キャリア、視覚芸術、食品技術、英語と日本語を勉強しています。特に、私は仕事を見つけることである「キャリア」の授業が好きです。初めて「キャリア」の授業を受けたとき、先生は「あなたの好き嫌いは何ですか」と尋ねた後、生徒の一人が「私は人種差別が嫌いです」と言いました。そこで、私は、オーストラリアは多民族国家なので、肌の色は気にしないと思いました。私の友人には黒人の人もいますし、私は黄色い肌を持っていますが、誰も肌の色を見て差別しません。

次に、セントアンドリュース・カトリック・カレッジでは、すべての学生が先生から尋ねられなくても自分の意見を言います。誰もが授業を理解し、考える力を育てようとするため、この制度が好きです。しかし、私は、すべての英語を聞くことに慣れません。だから私は授業中に注意深く先生の話しを聞いています。

もう一つのトピックは私の最初の週末です。ケアンズで最も大きなショッピングモールに行き、それから「typo」に行きました。　店はティーンエイジャーの間で有名です。また、理由はわかりませんが、ほとんどの友人は日本の学生よりも大きなペンケースを持っています。

ホストマザーに尋ねると、ペン、ハイライト、ホワイトアウトなどをすべて入れることができると言われたので、ペンケースとメモを買いました。　今週の日曜日は、赤いベルベットと、ホストマザーの父の誕生日のケーキを作ります。

私はこの留学を楽しんでおり、多くのことから毎日学習しています。最後まで読んでくださりありがとうございました、そして私のレポートを楽しんでくださったことを願っています。
