From Canada, Calgary, Report from Mamiko Abe at Drumheller Valley Secondary School, 0206.20

Hello, guys.  I am Mamiko Abe.  I am a Grade10 high school student studying abroad one year in Calgary, Canada. One month has passed since the new year began.  During this month of 2020, I went on a trip and take final exams at school.  Furthermore, my Korean friends returned home or transferred to another school.

The trip was to go sightseeing in a snowy mountain called Banff.  On the first day, we went shopping and bowling in the city.  I bought many gifts and souvenirs for those who in Japan. Second day, I was skiing. Canadian snow is so smooth, and I fell down many times. And then, we went to hot springs there. It was very comfortable in the open-air bath. But I was a little scared of Canadian because it was for both men and women.

In this month of January, I was feeling very sad because I missed my friends who encouraged me when I had been lonely and in anxiety at the time when I came to study abroad.  However, from the next month, I will do my best to study abroad for the other half semester so that I can make such friends again.

こんにちは、高校一年の阿部眞美子です。私は今カナダのカルガリーに一年留学をしています。年が明けて一ヶ月が経ちました。一ヶ月の間、この間に様々な体験をしました。トリップに行ったり、学校のファイナルイグザムを受けたりしました。そして韓国の友達が帰国したり、転校してしまうこともありました。

トリップはバンフと言う雪山に観光に行くものでした。１日目に街での買い物、ボーリングをしました。日本にいる人達に沢山お土産を買えました。２日目は雪山でスキーをしました。カナダの雪はサラサラしていました。ころんで尻餅を沢山ついてお尻が青くなってしまいました。その後、ホットスプリングに行きました。露天風呂でとても気持ち良かったですが、混浴でカナディアンが怖かったです。

帰国してしまった韓国の友達は、私が留学に来て一番不安だった時に仲良くしてくれていた友達だったのでとても悲しいです。来月からまたその様な友達が作れる様に、残り半分の留学生活を頑張っていこうと思います。今回のレポートも読んで頂き有難うございます。次のレポートも読んで頂けると嬉しいです。では、次のレポートでお会いしましょう。
