From New Zealand, Report from Rikako O. at Taranaki Diocesan School

Hi, everyone! I’m Ririko Okada, an exchange student at Taranaki Diocesan School for Girls, in Taranaki, New Zealand.  In this exchange report, I will talk about my dormitory life and what happened on the weekend.

First, I will talk about my dormitory life. The morning bell wakes us up at 7:00 and breakfast starts at 7:40. Basically, the classes at school start at 8:30 and end at 14:15.  We have some free time until 17:30 when dinner starts. During that free time, I buy sweets and ice at the supermarket nearby.  Also, we have “time for study” from 18:30 to 19:30.  And I go to bed at 22:00.  My dormitory life here is hard because we have to do everything according to the schedule planned.  For example, laundry must be done just as planned.

Next, I will talk about my weekend. This weekend, I took part in the Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves tour with my host family. The hobbits was a very beautiful and pretty place as the same as the movie stage itself. The Waitomo cave was also very mysterious and fun. I want to thank my host family for taking me there.  I will be busy because of camping next week, but I’ll do my best to try everything.

こんにちは、3ヶ月ニュージーランドのタラナキ・ダイオシサン高校に留学中の岡田麟莉子です。今回は私の寮生活と週末の出来事をお話しします。

まずは寮生活についてです。7時に起床ベルが鳴り、7時40分から朝食です。基本的に８時半から授業が始まり14:15に学校が終わります。17:30分から夕食が始まるまでの間は、自由時間でスーパーに行ってお菓子やアイスを買ったりしています。その後18:30 ~19:30までの間は勉強時間です。そして10時に就寝です。洗濯なども計画的に行わないといけないので大変です。

次に週末についてお話しします。今週末私はホストファミリーと一緒に、ホビット村とワイトモ洞窟のツアーに参加しました。ホビットは、映画の舞台そのもので、とても綺麗で可愛らしい場所でした。また、ワイトモ洞窟は神秘的で楽しかったです。家から遠いのにもかかわらず連れ行ってくれたホストファミリーに感謝したいです。

来週からキャンプが始まり忙しくなりますが、全てのことに全力を尽くして挑戦しようと思います。私のレポートを読んでくれてありがとうございました。
