From New Zealand, Report from Misaki T. at Inglewood High School in Inglewood 022020

I’m Misaki Takahashi, an exchange student studying at Inglewood High School, in Inglewood, New Zealand.

In this report, firstly, I will talk about my school life.  I get up at 7 o’clock and have a breakfast like cereal. I leave home at 8 o’clock and about twenty minutes’ walk takes me to school.  I got lost when I came home from school for the first time. My host mother picked me up on the halfway home from school.  In the evening, my host father showed me how to go school. So, now I can go school by myself.  They are so kind. I’m enjoying staying in New Zealand with them.

Classes at school start at 8:50 and end at 15:20.  Students and teachers are kind to me. I’m giving it my best try to talk with them as much as possible.

After school, I go home with my friend.  When my host mother comes home from her work, we talk about things happened today. My host mother is a teacher, and she often shows me some pictures of her students. I like this time. And I study until the teatime.  We often watch movies after the tea. “Free Willy” is my best movie I have ever watched in New Zealand.  I usually go to the bed at 10:30.

The next topic is about my last weekend.  Last Saturday, I volunteered at SPCA and took care of cats. They were very cute. I fed and cleaned their room. I will ask some questions to staff next time.  And last Sunday, my host family and I climbed up to the mountain. It was a little hard for me. But we could see beautiful scenery.

I’m busy now. But I’m really enjoying being in New Zealand. I will try everything and do my best.  Thank you for reading my report.

私はニュージーランドのイングルウッドハイスクールに留学している髙橋美咲です。

このレポートでは、まず、学校での生活について話します。朝は7時に起きてシリアルなどの朝ご飯を食べます。8時に家を出て20分かけて学校に行きます。初めて学校から帰ったとき、私は迷子になって、ホストマザーに途中まで迎えにきてもらいました。その日の夜、ホストファザーは学校への行き方を教えてくれました。おかげで今はもう1人で行くことができます。彼らはとても親切です。私は今彼らと一緒にニュージーランドでの生活を楽しんでいます。

授業は8時50分に始まり15時20分に終わります。この学校の先生や生徒たちはとても感じがいいです。私は彼らと話そうと頑張っています。放課後は、友達と一緒に家に帰ります。ホストマザーが仕事から帰ってきたら、私達は今日あった出来事について話します。先生であるホストマザーは、私に生徒たちの写真を見せてくれます。私はこの時間が好きです。夕食まで勉強をします。夜ご飯を食べた後、私達は映画を観ます。”Free Willy”は私のお気に入りの映画です。そして10時30分にベッドに向かいます。

次に先週の週末にあった出来事をお話しします。土曜日に私はSPCAにボランティアをしに行って、猫の世話をしました。彼らはとてもかわいかったです。私は彼らに餌をあげ、ケージを掃除しました。日曜日はホストファミリーと一緒に山登りに行きました。少し大変でしたが、私達は素晴らしい景色を観ることができました。

私は今忙しい毎日を送っていますが、ニュージーランドでの生活を楽しんでいます。たくさんのことに挑戦してベストを尽くしたいです。
