We are grateful and proud to share another new exchange study report reached us from Dublin, Ireland.  K.M. an international exchange student studying at Sutton Park Grammar School, reports to us about her recent intriguing experiences there in Dublin.  It would be great if you, readers, would enjoy her impressive, informative and lovely report!

Hello everyone!  I’m K.M. and I’m an international exchange student studying at Sutton Park School in Dublin, Ireland. It’s my great pleasure if you could read the following report to the end.

In this report, I would like to introduce my experience about LGBT+Q week, 1st December concert and so on.

First, we had LGBT+Q week from 16th to 20th in November. It was a week for us to think more deeply about LGBT+Q and respect each individuality.  So, there was many articles and pictures about LGBT+Q on the wall.

And on the 20th of the last day of LGBT+Q week, all the students wore rainbow-colored clothes, which is the symbol of LGBT+Q. Some students brought rainbow-colored flags with us. Also, I myself wore blue trouser and purple tops.

Second, I join the concert on the 1st of December.  At this concert, some students performed choir, cello, violin, piano, flute and ukulele.

I performed “La vie en Rose” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with playing the ukulele, and “Ain’t no mountain high enough” on the choir. This concert ended late at night, so I was very tired, but during break I had a great time dancing and singing with my friends.

In the movie club at lunchtime on Thursday, we talked about Christmas movies and everyone’s recommended movies.  And then my friend made a carrot cake, so we shared and ate it.  It was so good.

Finally, the climate in Ireland is getting cold, but I’m fine without being infected with coronavirus, and spend a great time. And the number of people infected with coronavirus is calm down, so I hope I will continue my enjoyable study abroad life in Ireland.

みなさん、こんにちは！現在、アイルランド、ダブリンにあるサットンパークスクールに1年留学中のK.M.です。今回のレポートも最後まで読んでいただけると嬉しいです。

このレポートでは、LGBT+Qウィークや、12月1日に開催された音楽コンサートなどについて紹介したいと思います。

まず、はじめに、LGBT+Qウィークというものが、11月16日から20日まで開催されました。　このウィークは、いつもよりもLGBT+Qについて関心を持って考えたり、個人を尊重するためのイベントでした。　そのため、学校の壁にはLGBT+Qに関する記事や写真がたくさん飾られていました。また、このウィークの最終日である20日には、それぞれの生徒が、レインボーカラーに含まれている色の服を着て学校に通いました。　何人かの生徒はレインボーフラグを持ってきている人もいました。ちなみに、私は薄紫のトップスと青のジーンズを着て参加しました。

次に、12月1日に行われた音楽コンサートについて紹介します。このコンサートでは、学校で音楽に励む生徒が、それぞれ歌やチェロ、ヴァイオリン、ピアノ、ウクレレなどを披露しました。私は、ウクレレと歌で “La vie en Rose”, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” という曲を披露し、また、”Ain’t no mountain high enough” という曲の合唱に参加しました。コンサートは夕方から開催され、終わるのは夜遅くだったので疲れましたが、休憩時間に教室で友達と歌ったり踊ったりしたので、とても楽しい時間でした。

また、この前の木曜日では、図書館でTransition yearのムービークラブがあったので、それに参加しました。そこでは、クリスマスの映画について話したり、みんなのおすすめの映画などを紹介したりしました。さらに、友達がキャロットケーキを作って持ってきてくれたので、みんなでシェアして食べました。　とても美味しかったです。

最後に、アイルランドの気候はますます寒くなっていますが、私はコロナにかかることなくも元気に過ごせています。また、アイルランドのコロナ感染者も落ち着いてきているので、これからもますます充実した留学生活を送りたいと思います。
