Beyond School Challenge – 立教大学GLAP Trial Lesson 2023 にチャレンジ！

今年度も立教大学GLAPのTrial Lesson に本校の生徒がチャレンジしました。本校は「Beyond School – 学校を越えた」様々なプログラムへのチャレンジを積極的に支援しています。そうしたチャレンジでは大学と連携した様々な発展的な学びの機会がたくさんあります。

その一つとして、昨年に続いて、今年も立教大学 Global Liberal Arts Program GLAP の主催する Trial Lesson へチャレンジ。その生徒レポートを紹介します。

今年のGLAPトライアル授業のトピックは、”AI -How ChatGPT and similar Al will disrupt education　-　Teachers are concerned about cheating and inaccurate information” 　世界中で課題となっている生成系AIについて、そしてその教育での活用について。正解のない問いについての議論です。

本校では、英語ディベートチームやING(模擬国連)、TED x Youth など、英語でのディスカッションや意見発表を行う機会もたくさんあります。そうした場で磨いたスキルを試す絶好の機会となりました。また、立教大学GLAPの特徴もよくわかり、進路を考える上でも貴重なチャンスとなりました。

私は、7月29日に立教大学の GLAP (グローバル・リベラル・アーツ・プログラム）が主催した Trial Lesson チュートリアルという授業を実際に体験してきました。ここでは、　3つのセクションがありました。本プログラムのガイダンス、GLAP の1年生の全員が受けているチュートリアルの体験授業、それとGLAPの学生との交流会の3つです。チュートリアルの体験授業では事前に配布されていた課題について英語でのディスカッションを行いました。

今回の内容は「How ChatGPT and similar Al will disrupt education　-　Teachers are concerned about cheating and inaccurate information」でした。今、世界中で課題になっている生成系AIについてのトピックでしたが、自分では想像もできなかった興味深い意見や考え方に触れることができました。

また GLAP の他の大学とは違う大きな特徴は、少人数制であることです。普段、意見をあまり言えてこられなかった私でも発言をし、みんなに自分の意見を伝えることができました。このプログラムでは、GLAP の先輩方や普段関わる機会のない他行の生徒の方々と話すことができ、多くの刺激を受ける貴重な経験になりました。

It was a great pleasure for me to participate in the program by Rikkyo University GLAP Trail Lesson. There were mainly sections in this program. Guidance about the basic information about GLAP, Trial lesson and chatting with the GLAP students.　In the tutorial class, we had a discussion in English on an assignment that had been distributed to us in advance.

The topic was “How ChatGPT and similar AI will disrupt education Teachers are concerned about cheating and inaccurate information”. I was exposed to interesting opinions and ideas that I could not have imagined.

The differ of GLAP　compared to other universities is that the classes are　small sized in number, so I was able to speak out to express my own opinions to share with all.    This program was a valuable experience for me because I was able to talk with senior GLAP students and students from other banks with whom I do not usually have the opportunity to interact with other high school students.    In this experience,  I could gain plenty of excitement and inspiration.

今回、立教大学GLAP主催のイベントに参加しました。GLAPの特色などを紹介したガイダンス・学生たちによるプレゼンテーション、同世代との完全英語のディスカッションや先輩方との懇親会など、盛りだくさんな内容だったため、短時間だったのにもかかわらず、大変充実していました。

メインであった英語ディスカッションでは、3人または4人の少人数的な環境で積極的に意見が飛び交いました。自分と異なる新しい視点の意見を取り入れられたのはもちろん、何より驚いたのは大学生を中心に皆、一般的に思いつく内容をベースに、個性的な観点から議題を分析し自分の考えをより、根拠が豊富に自立させて発表していたことです。独自な視点に意識を向け、考えを英語で発表することに対し、少しも躊躇や恥ずかしさに左右されないまっすぐとした姿勢に刺激と感銘を受けました。

GLAPの2年生からの1年間の留学や異文化交流ができる寮も大変魅力です。プレゼンやディスカッションなどのグループワークを経てアウトプットを日常的に行えることがグローバルな時代を生きる私たちが身に着けるべきスキルであり、個人の成長にも繋がると思いました。

I participated in the program that GLAP, the Global Liberal Arts Program, organized on July 29. There are so many attractive points in GLAP; for example, all credits can be earned in English classes in principle, 1 year of study abroad is required, and so on.

The main program was a tutorial class with English discussion in very small groups of 3 or 4 people. All members are main then; they can think deeply about the topic through the proactive exchange of opinions. It is necessary for us, the people who live in a global society, to connect to the next generation.

According to first-year college students who talk at a social gathering,　they really claim that they have not only improved their English but also acquired various indispensable skills and, at the same time, that their skills have already improved dramatically.
