妻中便り

From Australia – August 1st

Day 4,  August 1st,  Wednesday

Smile, Smile and Smile.

できる限り否定語を使わない文化。セントアンドリュースはポジティブな表現であふれています。「するな!」ではなく「しよう!」。人のもっともポジティブは表情は笑顔。生徒もだいぶ慣れて笑顔がでてきました。

This morning it was 16℃ with a little bit more humid air than yesterday morning. It will be windy and 26℃ in the daytime, according to the ABC weather forecast.  Wind brings some clouds here. Our sense of Japanese feels some kind of tenderness in the air of today.

The fourth day for us to stay in St. Andrews started with the words of a St. Andrews’ teacher, “Good Morning, young ladies!  Oh! she has the best smile in St. Andrews”  “ Otsuma Nakano students seem to be getting used to staying here. I can find lovely smiles on their faces.  They've got fantastic smiles!”

We are really impressed with the words he said to us.  Many teachers of St. Andrerws always smile to us when we meet with each other.  They say, “Good Day! “ or “How are you?” with wonderful smiles.  We are sure that your smile makes you smile more and it makes people being around you smile even more.

Of course, language is quite important in communication, but smile is much more important.  It’s the best key to make you and all feel good, which leads to good communication.  Keep on speaking out English aloud and Keep on smiling!
